VIRTUAL MARATHON
The COVID-19 has impacted every kind of institution: government, medical, transport, and - most importantly - education.
While it’s been a year marred with tragedy and heartache, by necessity education innovations and new approaches have emerged out of the turmoil and are presenting real opportunities to transform education worldwide.
With schools conducting : Online classes, using e-learning technologies, Charity drives, extending its helping hands to the underprivileged by giving them essential food items and sanitizing kits, and Virtual field trips to digital museums and zoos. We are amazed at how teachers and students have carried themselves forward amidst COVID-19.
Amid the global pandemic, we empathize with all the teachers across the world who have adapted to the changing learning environment. While schools might be ‘closed’ across the world, it is crucial for us to acknowledge that it is only the school buildings that are closed. Teachers have been working harder than ever.
This event is to raise awareness about our teachers' effort, and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
This is a Teacher-Student Themed Run. Participants can choose to run as a teacher or a student, depending on the race category. Each character has a unique story about his/her struggle during COVID, and what this run means to them.

Aarav Sir’s teaching journey after the pandemic struck and faced initial struggles. But, he implemented the things he learned from running in his day-to-day life and pushed himself each day. He wants to participate in this marathon to celebrate teachers like him who faced a lot of difficulties but still kept going.
His challenge: Running 3KM under 25minutes!
REGISTERFrom teaching to playing with the kids, to cooking, Miss Richa is a super-mom! But supermoms also need a break sometimes. Her pre-pandemic “me-time” would be walking back from school after teaching. Those 20 minutes each day were all she needed to refresh and rewire. Has that been the same post-pandemic? Not really.
Her challenge: To relive those moments, Richa is planning on walking 3KM every single day of the marathon! P.S: She has also urged supermoms like her to join in on this journey.
REGISTERYou can call Raghav Sir the jack-of-all-trades. He is the ultimate all-rounder; organizing athletic events, march-pasts, and tug-of-war, that too single-handedly. However, a switch to online classes wasn’t a setback for him. In fact, it was a step up. He now teaches his students stretches and at-home workouts that recharge them from sitting through all the online classes. Want to know the best part?
His challenge: Participating with his students and making it their own “virtual sports day”
REGISTERMrs. Malikka, the traditional English teacher; grammar Nazi, book-lover, and a captivating storyteller! One day while reading a runner’s autobiography, she discovered how valuable this sport can be. She then decided to take it up and started off slow with brisk walking. She has now advanced to running 3KM without getting tired. “You always learn something new each day”, she says.
Her challenge: Taking one step forward and running for 5KM!
REGISTERWho doesn’t love the PT period? Running, football, basketball, you’re in for something new every time. Rehan’s reminiscing on those nostalgic memories with his best friends, especially seeing who runs the fastest. After hearing about the marathon, Rehan and his friends registered to recreate that PT period, even though they are in different cities.
His challenge: Acing that 10KM run and proving he is the fastest amongst all his friends!
REGISTERWith the boards over her head, Deepthi was bound to be stressed out. The only time she found solace was when she completed her studies for the day and went for a run. The rush, the endorphins, it’s a total stress buster.
Her challenge: To stay consistent with her 10KM runs even during the exams, to break a sweat, and bust the stress.
REGISTERTeachers can be a source of inspiration, just like George’s teacher who got him into running during college. When George heard this marathon is about celebrating teachers, he wanted to give his teacher, Mr.Ramdharne, a token of appreciation for helping him get started.
His challenge: Running the 16KM with Mr.Ramdharne as an ode for being his inspiration.
REGISTERIt has been 2 years since Nehalee has been a working professional. The long hours at work, irregular diet, lead to an altogether downward spiral in her health. But when work from home started, so did her fitness regime. The quickest and easiest way to start? Walking. The only equipment needed was a pair of shoes! Her challenge: Testing her newfound love for fitness and walking for 16KM!
Her post-walk celebration will be a protein shake. Fitness freak indeed!
